To provide quality mental health and programming assistance to effectively re-introduce F.I.V.E. clients back into society equipped with the training and confidence to lead self-sufficient, self-sustaining lives.
Vision
The F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program is the natural and next logical extension towards self-sufficiency and self-sustainability for substance users who participate in the Five Hearts Healthcare Substance Use Counseling Program. Our program provides group counseling treatment that meets the complex mental and behavioral health needs of patients. Our services provide the highest quality of care through compassion, knowledge, and respect, encouraging personal growth and development while preparing our participants to compete in the workforce, discover a career path, and navigate that pathway to prosperity. Our goal is to assist individuals and their families in fulfilling goals and improving their quality of life. We promote recovery, wellness, and self-sustainability by providing individuals with quality behavioral health and workforce development programming. At F.I.V.E. we strive to be a participant-focused organization staffed by highly trained professionals who are dedicated to our program participants, their families and the communities we serve.
Theoretical Concept – Inequity and Disparage Lens
In today’s modern economy the wealth and income disparages continue to increase. Studies indicate that the poor are, in fact, experiencing a very slight increase economically; however, the rich are experiencing an exponential increase both economically and in income. A currently occurring and exemplifying dynamic contributing to the equity disparage is the Skill Biased Technological Change. The jobs created in modernized economies are more technology based and require newer skills and fewer workers to get the job done. The workers who have the education and skill set to do the new tech based jobs are thriving while others are left behind. Technology has become a vehicle for skilled workers to arrive at economic prosperity, while simultaneously replacing traditional labor needs. As middle-skilled sustainable wage manufacturing jobs move overseas, low-skilled, low pay and high-skilled, high pay jobs are left – resulting in people with few skills falling behind in the income disparage.
The Disparage
The Change
The F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program is designed to impart change on the lasting impact to people of color created by centuries of disadvantage and disparage and the systemic practices and mechanisms that currently facilitate the continuance of this disparage.
This program functions to establish and maintain direct, deliberate, intentional pathways to retained employment that provides financial security and income prosperity. The F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program gives usage of these designed pathways to those groups of people of color who historically could not benefit from or had little to no exposure to the mechanisms and resources that were exclusive to people of non-color – those mechanisms and resources that pushed people of non-color into the position of economic and income advantage and people of color further into economic and income disadvantage.
The pathways designed in the F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program are intended to accelerate self-sustainability, family stability, and community development by engaging those struggling with addiction in the poorest areas of our communities and aligning them with pathways to economic security and financial prosperity. Though there are many contributors to the increasing economic and income disparage such as inequitable education, the reduced influence of unions, and voting and healthcare discrimination, this program serves to increase racial equity and impact income inequality through the system of workforce development (training and job connection). In response to the widening income and economic gap, F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program is positioned to provide mental health healing combined with economic healing and restoration to the people and families in the needed areas of the community. The overarching purpose of F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program is to change the worth and economic value of the community through skills training and retained employment at a competitive wage and/or self-employment.
This program is a mechanism to increase racial equity, decrease the economic and income disparage, and bring change to our communities.
Theoretical Concept – Workforce Development Lens
F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program endeavors to be a customer-focused organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining good mental health of program participants, their career readiness development and the subsequent benefit to the community. Our work is to deliver quality behavioral healthcare, industry certification training, and pathways to economic prosperity which function to increase racial equity and decrease the economic and income disparage.
We utilize best-practice career readiness programming methods to deliver industry specific certification training and certification obtainment, which plays a pivotal role in placing programmers on the path of self-sufficiency and self-sustainability.
F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program was designed out of the need to correct and revise current training programming deficiencies and short falls that contribute to a poor trainee experience. F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program addresses and solves for traditional and historic challenges of current programming and serves to provide the trainee with a redeemable experience as well as more dexterous outcomes. Outcomes and deliverables such as cash labor force training and job placement, entrepreneurship, and bridge gap benefits such as LLC obtainment and business cards. The cash labor force allows the trainee that possesses outstanding financial debts and fees to maneuver and focus on establishing self-sufficiency and self-sustainability at a faster rate possible than other more traditional pathways. Through partnerships with initiatives that function to relax hiring practices adverse to criminal backgrounds and programming benefits such as transportation and housing, F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program is designed to situate programmers in the best possible position for sustained self –sufficiency.
F.I.V.E. Career Readiness and Training Program itself is also equipped with the type of personnel needed to successfully engage with and deliver programming to its targeted demographic. Because the initial F.I.V.E. Career Readiness Training Program trainees are participants of the Five Hearts Healthcare LLC, Substance Use Addiction Counseling Group, the profile of the staff has been carefully considered to reflect the ability to tackle the elevated task of career training and job placement for those struggling with addiction. All members of leadership have previous experience in workforce development and entrepreneurship in addition to advanced degrees in or previous leadership experience in behavioral health.
This program is a mechanism to increase employment retention and accelerate the path of self-sufficiency and self-sustainability.
